Caring for your IceRoutine roller
The roller is a simple tool, and caring for it is just as simple. A two-minute rinse after each use, a dry spot in the freezer, and the occasional deeper clean — that is almost the whole manual.
Everyday hygiene
After every session, rinse the rolling head under cool tap water to wash off any serum or sunscreen. A drop of gentle soap is fine once or twice a week if you use the roller over makeup. Pat it dry with a clean towel and pop it back in the freezer. That is the daily version.
Deep clean, once a week
Once a week, give it a proper wash. Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap or a gentle face cleanser, and a soft cloth on the rolling head. Rinse well so no soap residue is left behind, and dry the handle too — water can sit in the joint where the head meets the grip, and you want that fully dry before it goes back in the freezer.
If you have made a recipe roller with cucumber, chamomile, or fruit water, clean it the same day you use it. Natural infusions can leave a faint film that builds up over time, and weekly soap-and-water keeps the roller smelling neutral.
Storage
Keep the roller upright in the freezer so nothing presses on the head. A free corner of the door, or a small container, works fine. A fridge does not get cold enough — this is a freezer tool. If you travel, a small insulated pouch with an ice pack keeps it usable for a few hours.
How long it lasts
The IceRoutine roller is reusable and designed to last. With daily use and basic care, most owners get years out of a single roller. There is nothing inside to run out — the cooling comes from the freezer, not from any chemical refill — so the only thing that ages is the outer housing.
- A visible crack on the rolling head.
- Water seeping into the joint where the head meets the handle.
- It no longer feels cold after a full freeze.
A few small don’ts
Do not microwave the roller, do not put it in the dishwasher, and do not use boiling water on it. It is built for cold, not heat. Skip harsh cleaners too — bleach, oven spray, or anything abrasive can scratch the outer surface. Soap and water is honestly enough.
- Store upright in a clean, dry freezer spot
- Rinse under cool (not hot) water after every use
- Dry with a soft cloth before returning to the freezer
- Inspect monthly for tiny cracks or loss of cold
- Run it under hot water — it stresses the seal
- Put it in the dishwasher or microwave, ever
- Share the roller between people — hygiene first
- Use it on broken or actively inflamed skin
